Golden Sunshine Purée: Carrot, Apple & Avocado Recipe for Babies (6+ Months)

This vibrant, silky-smooth purée is a wonderful homemade meal for babies starting solids at 6 months and older. Naturally sweet and nutrient-dense, it combines essential vitamins with a wholesome healthy fat source to support early cognitive growth.

Ingredients

1 Medium Organic Carrot: Peeled and chopped into small, uniform discs.

1 Sweet Apple (Gala or Golden Delicious): Peeled, cored, and sliced.

1/4 Ripe Avocado: The secret ingredient providing a velvety texture and valuable essential fatty acids.

Liquid for Consistency: Breast milk, formula, or the remaining vitamin-rich steaming water.
Method
Steam the Produce:
Place the carrot discs in a steamer basket over boiling water and cook for 10–12 minutes until tender. Add the apple slices during the last 5–6 minutes so they soften perfectly alongside the carrots.

Combine: Transfer the tender carrots and apples into a high-speed blender, then scoop in the fresh, ripe avocado flesh.

Blend to Perfection: Pour in a small splash of your preferred liquid. Blend until the mixture achieves a completely smooth consistency, free of any small lumps.

Adjust Texture: For early-stage weaning, add extra liquid to reach a runny, light cream texture. As your baby develops oral-motor skills, keep the purée slightly thicker.

Serve & Store: Serve lukewarm after carefully testing the temperature on your wrist.
