Blueberry & Apple Vitamin Puree (6+ Months): Silk Smooth Baby Food Recipe from Italy

Sometimes the simplest combinations are the most magical. This silk-textured puree combines the crisp sweetness of organic apples with the deep, antioxidant-rich notes of wild berries. It’s a perfect snack that looks as beautiful as it tastes."

Ingredients:

  • 1 Organic Sweet Apple (Fuji or Honeycrisp)

  • 1/2 cup Wild Blueberries (fresh or frozen)

  • A hint of vanilla (optional, for a gourmet touch)

  • 2 tbsp Coconut water or Breastmilk (for that silky finish)

Preparation Method:

  1. Prepare the Fruit: Start by washing your apple and blueberries thoroughly. Peel the apple, remove the core, and dice it into small, even cubes. If using frozen blueberries, there’s no need to thaw them beforehand.

  2. Steam to Perfection: Place the apple cubes in a steamer basket over a pot of boiling water. Cover and steam for about 8 minutes. Then, add the blueberries to the basket and steam for another 2–3 minutes. Steaming is the best way to preserve all those vital vitamins and that deep, beautiful color.

  3. Blend for Silkiness: Transfer the softened fruit into a blender or food processor. Add the coconut water (or breastmilk/formula) and a tiny hint of vanilla if you’re feeling gourmet.

  4. The Secret Step: Blend on high speed until the texture is perfectly smooth and "silky." If it’s too thick, add one more tablespoon of liquid until you reach the desired consistency.

  5. Cool and Serve
    :
Let the puree cool down before offering it to your little muse.

Storage Tips:

  • Fridge: Keep in an airtight glass jar for up to 3 days.

  • Freezer: Pour into silicone ice cube trays for easy portioning. Stays fresh for up to 3 months.

Mom Muse Tip:

"I love serving this puree slightly warm on chilly mornings, or mixing it into plain Greek yogurt for a beautiful marbled effect that older toddlers will also enjoy!"
