Fluffy & Healthy Fish Soufflé for Toddlers & Kids | Easy Baked Fish Cake
Introducing a kid-approved way to serve fish! This Fluffy Fish Soufflé (Baked Fish Pudding) is incredibly soft, melt-in-the-mouth, and packed with healthy nutrients. Perfect for toddlers, picky eaters, and busy weeknight dinners. A gentle, creamy texture that your little ones will love!
Ingredients:
300g (10.5 oz) White fish fillet (such as cod, hake, or tilapia), skinless and boneless
50ml (1.7 fl oz) Milk (or heavy cream for a richer texture)
1 large Egg (separated into yolk and white)
1 tbsp Butter (melted, plus extra for greasing the molds)
1 tbsp Rice flour (or regular all-purpose flour / cornstarch)
1 small Carrot (finely grated, optional for extra vitamins and color)
A tiny pinch of Salt (adjust according to your child's age)
Instructions:
Prep the Fish: Ensure the fish fillet is completely bone-free. Cut it into small chunks and pat dry with a paper towel.
Blend: Place the fish pieces, egg yolk, milk, melted butter, flour, and a tiny pinch of salt into a blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth and creamy. (If using grated carrots, stir them in now).
Whip the Egg White: In a separate clean bowl, whip the egg white until stiff peaks form.
Fold Gently: Carefully and gently fold the whipped egg white into the fish mixture using a spatula. This is the secret to making the soufflé incredibly fluffy and soft for little teeth.
Bake: Grease small ramekins or a silicone baking mold with a bit of butter. Divide the mixture evenly into the molds. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 20–25 minutes until the soufflé rises and the top is lightly golden.
Serve: Let it cool down to a warm, safe temperature. Serve directly in the ramekin or gently flip it onto a kid-friendly plate.
