Healthy Turkey & Vegetable Puree Meal for Toddlers
Tender Turkey with Steamed Veggie Mash
Prep time: 10 mins
Cook time: 20 mins
Servings: 2 toddlers
Ingredients:
100g (3.5 oz) ground turkey or skinless turkey breast (cut into very small pieces)
1 small carrot (peeled and diced)
1 small potato or sweet potato (peeled and diced)
1/4 cup zucchini or cauliflower florets
1 tsp olive oil or unsalted butter
1/2 cup low-sodium chicken broth or water
A pinch of dried dill or parsley (optional)
Instructions:
Steam the Veggies:
Place the diced potatoes, carrots, and zucchini (or cauliflower) in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for 15–18 minutes until completely tender.
Cook the Turkey:
While the vegetables are steaming, heat the olive oil or butter in a small pan over medium heat. Add the turkey, stirring constantly and breaking it down into tiny, fine pieces. Add the water or low-sodium broth, cover, and let it simmer on low heat for about 10–12 minutes until the turkey is fully cooked and very soft.
Make the Veggie Mash:
Transfer the steamed vegetables to a bowl. Mash them with a fork or potato masher to a smooth, toddler-friendly consistency (you can add a tiny splash of warm milk or broth if needed).
Combine and Serve:
Serve the tender, finely minced turkey alongside the soft vegetable mash. Let it cool down to a safe temperature before serving!
